[강추/뮤비] Bad Cover Version - PULP

펄프의 새 앨범 we love life에서 가장 눈에 띄는 곡이다. 듣는순간 딱 꽂혔다. 제목 Bad Cover Versoin은 "형편없는 버전으로 덮어버리다" 라는 사전적인 번역?을 할 수 있겠고, 뮤비를 보면 그야말로 짝퉁버전이란 얘기다.

가사내용을 보면, 예전에 사귄 여자친구에게 새 남자가 생겼다는 말을 듣고, 새 남친은 나와는 비교할 수 없을 정도로 형편없을 것이라며  결국 나(원본)을 대체할 수 없는 형편없는 이미테이션이라고 말한다.(말을 하는 톰과제리, TV판 혹성탈출, 80년대의 롤링스톤즈처럼 너를 실망시킬거라며..(웃음) 

노래만큼이나 걸작은 뮤비다. 뮤비에는 폴 매카트니, 리암갤러거, 로비 윌리암스, 엘튼 존 같은 내노라하는 뮤지션들이 등장한다. 심지어 10년전 죽은 커트코베인까지..(웃음) 모두 다 이미테이션 배우들이다. 제목도 "형편없는 버전으로 덮어버리다 "이고, 뮤비도 원본이 아닌 "형편없는 버전들" 로 채운다, (자비스의 센스는 참~경이롭다)

이 앨범 이후 펄프는 아직 그 어떤 레이블과도 계약하지 못한 상태인데, 저비스가 심기일전의 일환으로 마릴린 맨슨에 버금가는 그로테스트한 이미지로 바꾸려 한다는 말이 있다..(실제로 지난 5월 시크릿 기그에서 그랬다고 함!) 여튼 나에겐 이만저만 충격적인 소식이 아닐 수 없다-_-;
